1. Types of Wedding Photography Packages
Most photographers offer tiered packages to cater to different needs and budgets. Common types of packages include:
- Basic Package: Includes the essentials, like coverage for a certain number of hours, typically from the ceremony through to the reception or first dance. This is often the most affordable package.
- Standard Package: Offers more coverage (e.g., more hours of shooting, additional locations like bridal prep) and more features (like an engagement session or a few prints or albums).
- Premium Package: These are the most comprehensive and customizable packages. They include everything from full-day coverage, additional photographers or assistants, engagement sessions, albums, prints, and digital files in high resolution.
- Custom Package: Some photographers offer a custom package where you can choose specific services like extra hours, second shooters, additional albums, and more. This allows couples to tailor their experience.

2. What’s Typically Included in a Wedding Photography Package?
Each photographer’s offering can vary, but these are standard features included in wedding photography packages:
1. Hours of Coverage – Basic packages often provide 6–8 hours of coverage.
A full-day package might cover from the bride’s preparation to the end of the reception (typically 10–12 hours).
2. Second Shooter – Some packages include a second photographer to capture more angles and moments. This is especially important for larger weddings.
A second shooter ensures that no key moments (like reactions during the ceremony or speeches) are missed.
3. Engagement Session – Many photographers offer engagement shoots as part of a package, either free or for an additional cost. These shoots help you get comfortable with the photographer before the wedding.
4. Digital Images – Most packages will include a USB drive or an online gallery with your high-resolution photos. Some photographers may offer a number of edited photos (e.g., 400–600), while others give all photos taken during the day.
5. Albums – Photographers often offer albums as part of higher-tier packages. They can range from a basic photo book to a premium, custom-designed album.
Albums usually include a selection of the best moments from the wedding day.
6. Prints – Some packages may include prints or framed images, such as prints of key moments or family portraits. This could be a set number of prints or included in your album.
7. Online Gallery – A password-protected gallery where you can view and share your photos with family and friends. Often, you can order additional prints through this gallery.
8. Travel Fees – If your wedding is outside of the photographer’s regular service area, some packages include travel costs. This might be an additional charge for weddings far from the photographer’s location.
